Major Art Reference and Research Library selects BiblioChip RFID Technology

Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute Chooses Bibliotheca for RFID
The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, located in Williamstown, Massachusetts, has chosen Bibliotheca as their RFID technology provider. The Clark’s library, considered one of the premier art reference libraries in the United States for the study of European and American art from the Renaissance to the present, will outfit their prestigious collection of over 230,000 printed books, bound periodicals and auction sales catalogues with Bibliotheca RFID tags for inventorying and tracking purposes.

“We chose Bibliotheca as our RFID partner because their products fully integrate with our ILS system, Millennium,” said Susan Roeper, the Clark’s librarian. “We are excited about all the new staff efficiencies, cost savings, and convenience we will enjoy as a result of making the move to Bibliotheca RFID. We plan to add Bibliotheca’s security gates as well as two self-check kiosks in the near future.”

Lamar Jackson, president and CEO of Bibliotheca Inc., added, “We are very pleased to add the Clark’s library to our growing list of clients around the world. Like other key clients, such as the U.S. Military Academy at West Point N.Y., and the Bavarian State Library in Munich, Germany, the Clark’s mission includes collecting and safeguarding items of inestimable value. Bibliotheca is pleased that we will play a role in carrying out this important mission.”
