The new library at the American University of Sharjah opened its doors for the first time in January 2006. With more than 125,000 items, the AUS Library, fully equipped with modern technology, has one of the largest stocks of library media in the United Arab Emirates, which is managed and secured with a BiblioChip RFID system. The RFID system is completely integrated into Innovative's Millennium library software.

As Lorin Ritchie, the university's librarian, emphasizes, "The success of the entire library is directly linked with the introduction of the RFID system. Students, faculty and library personnel were delighted with the new system right from the start. Even though the time schedule for the installation was tight, Bibliotheca was able to supply us with all of the system components, from labels to software implementation, right on time."
